Pictures can be worth a thousand words. So when I read this morning that Nick Swardson (Grandma's Boy) was teaming up with Adam Sandler to write a movie I was thinking well this should be good. However, judging by the company who is producing the film (Happy Madison Productions) I wasn't to sure how good it would be. Happy Madison (Adam Sandler's production company) hasn't really put anything out note-worthy since 2006 with Grandma's Boy (films after that included Strange Wilderness, House Bunny, Paul Blart Mall Cop and Zookeeper). Then I saw the poster for their next film (shown above). Just by the picture alone I know this film is going to be funny. Then I saw the trailer and it confirmed my prediction (trailer can be seen after the jump).
The film (opening in theaters September 9th) stars Nick Swardson, Christina Ricci (Monster, Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, Sleepy Hollow) Don Johnson (Miami Vice, Nash Bridges, and the infamous cameo as Kenny Powers' dad in Eastbound and Down), and Stephen Dorff (Blade, Public Enemies, Felon). Bucky Larson (Swardson) is a geeky small town grocery bagger at the local food market. He's going no where in life until he finds a porn film with his two parents in it as the stars. After finding out that his folks weren't going to let him see the collection until he was at least 50, he decides that it is so cool that his parents were stars and he wants to be one. So what does he do? What any small town grocery bagger that has no life and buck teeth would do; move to Hollywood and follow in his familys' footsteps. Does he know what he's getting himself into? Judging by the trailer... not the slightest. Check it out:
